In your restorative practice, do you ever feel like you’re in a power struggle?
Giving unwanted advice?
Feeling like the conversation is going in circles?
Join us for this two part training. This training will focus on the Motivational Interviewing techniques of asking Open Ended Questions and giving Affirmations, Reflections, and Summaries (OARS). Developed by staff from local Community Justice Centers, this interactive workshop, will allow you to sharpen your communication skills, learn how to encourage others to make their own positive decisions without lecturing, and create true working partnerships.
The OARS technique provides simple and effective communication strategies for difficult conversations around conflict and behavior change. During the training, you will build a framework for using OARS in your restorative practices. Training activities will focus on hands-on application and role play along with ample time for questions and review.
